Lewisham Council protest Report

Around 400 people protested tonight as the council met to vote through £60 million in cuts to local services. The cuts will see local services and jobs decimated in the borough and protesters were there in force to send a message loud and clear that whether from the ConDem government or the local council, we will not accept these vicious cuts.  Protesters were furious that riot police were used to stop them getting into the Town Hall.  However, some did manage to get into the building to make their voices heard. The council were forced to adjourn. More news to follow. . .
